I recently told you about a friend publishing a pamphlet with AQS, here is the last of her quilts called "Heat Wave". Again, I can not show the whole quilt -but you can see some of the quilting. The quilting pattern used is Paisley Max by Jodi Beamish. It is a concentrated pattern, but what an impact it makes on a quilt.
This quilt was done for Jan O and her blog is thecolorfulfabriholic.blogspot.com

CQ Round Robin
Our Crazy Quilt Club at Jackman's is starting a round robin and below is my block. Round Robin's are fantastic ways to build your skill set. They force you to try new things and do the best job you can.
The block is home and I made a pillow for my bed.
I am always amazed, by the time the block is home, I do not recognize it. I think I could have made the frame around the block larger, but I found this piece and thought it went perfect with the block.
This Crazy Quilt group is awesome and getting better every day. My embellishing talents are growing leaps and bounds. It is also a nice diversion from sane quilting.

Recent Quilts
A friend, Jan, is in the process of preparing a booklet for AQS scheduled to publish in Feb of 2015. She asked me to quilt a couple of the projects in pamphlet. I can not show you the finished quilt, but thought you might like to see an isolated piece of the quilting. She requested a quilt design "Bumpity" by Barbara Becker. You can follow Jan on thecolorfulfabriholic.blogspot.com
Today, I am starting the final project. The quilt design for this quilt will be "Paisley Max by Jodi Beamish". Jan used this design on "Big Print Beauty" below. The quilt design was stunning on this quilt - see below.

CrazyQuilt Block of the month Challenge
Last night I decided to prepare all of my blocks to be used on the "Block of the month" challenge. All of the base pieces are done with April and May crazy quilt blocks ready to embellish. Can't wait for the creative juices to flow. I have ordered a lace umbrella to work in my April Showers block.
Crazy Quilt - Block of the month - March Block
Our Crazy Quilt quild leader has challenged us to create a 6" block for each month of the year. We missed January, due to weather, so the challenged was handed out in February. March being the first block; attached is my attempt to capture the Irish in me. It is a work in progress and will post photos as it develops.
Simple Baby Quilt
I have been working on a few quilts for Jan O to put in her book for AQS. For the latest quilt, she chose Bumpity quilt design by Barbara Becker. We tried the design on this cute baby quilt. We were both pleased by the results.

Quilt - Round Robin
Our guild initiated a "round robin" in February. Participants (24 in total) were to create a 12 inch block. These were handed off to the next quilter and they were to add two 4 patch blocks to each side. I forgot to take a picture of the block I received in Feb, but here is the block I received in March. As you can see, the quilter ahead of me added 4 patches around the whole block. The March addition is supposed to be applique on all sides.
